Aug. 6th - Port McNeil Marina

Today we arrived at The North Island Marina.  Steve, the Marina operator, told us to go to Cluxewe Restaurant so we made reservations for 6:30pm.  The meal was amazing - we shared a great beet salad with 6 prawns which had an excellent dressing.  Rod had halibut chips with fries & mashed peas & I had a chicken & fig linguine with Gorgonzola sauce.  Then we each had dessert - Rod had a pudding with toffee sauce & I had tiramisu.  The restaurant is on a camp site which belongs to the First Nations people.

Heather left yesterday about 2:30 with the kids on Kenmore Air from Pierre's - they were here for a week.  After they left we had another pig roast & everyone brought something - I made cole slaw again.  We ended up with 4 couples sitting at our table & one was a couple from the Seattle Yacht Club - they have a boat named Iron Wind & their name is Hector & Jan Cyre.  They live in Friday Harbor.  Rod had him over on the boat because someone on the BC Boaters Net wanted to talk to him.  It turns out they have a lot in common.  We invited them to come to the SYC Farmhouse get together.  He's a pilot & would fly to the Skagit Regional airport & then we'll pick them up.
